BZFlag Competition

HITBSecConf2008 - Dubai will play host to a bzflag competition organized by the US Army. BZFlag is a free online multiplayer cross-platform open source 3D tank battle game. The name originates from “Battle Zone capture the Flag”. It runs on Irix, Linux, *BSD, Windows, Mac OS X, and many other platforms. It’s one of the most popular games ever on Silicon Graphics machines and continues to be developed and improved to this day. It’s one of the most popular open source games ever.

There will be a main server set up and attendees are invited to bring your laptops and join the fun - there is no registration fee for the game and you can join from anywhere in the conference area by connecting the HITBSecConf wifi network and downloading the game client from the bzflag server. Details on IP addresses and such will be released closer to the conference date.
