Dr. Bob Baxley Chief Engineer, Bastille Networks
Dr. Bob Baxley joined Bastille Networks in 2014, after spending more than six years as a research engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) where he most recently served as the Director of the Software Defined Radio Lab. During his time at GTRI, he won the Junior Faculty Research Award, GTRI IRAD of the Year, and led the GTRI team that placed second out of 90 teams in the DARPA Spectrum Challenge. Dr. Baxley served as an Associate Editor for Digital Signal Processing. He has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers and is the inventor of 5 issued patents.
Dr. Baxley received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees all in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech. His master’s thesis, entitled Analyzing Selected Mapping for Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction in OFDM, won the Georgia Tech university-wide Sigma Xi Award for best MS thesis in 2005. While completing his MS degree, Dr. Baxley received the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) award, which provided full funding for his PhD studies. As a PhD candidate, his research focused on signal processing for communications applications. He was awarded the Grand Prize in the SAIC student paper competition for his work in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform optimization in 2007. Dr. Baxley was also recognized for his PhD research in 2008 with the Georgia Tech Center for Signal & Image Processing Outstanding Research Award. Dr. Baxley is a member of the Association of Old Crows and is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
