Citizen Chain

The rhetoric around Blockchain seems centered in some semblance of philanthropy, with the idea that this technology and its spawn will somehow bring unity and equality to an otherwise unstable world. Yet, somewhere on the order of over 90% of Blockchain technologies are vaporware or scams designed to make the founders rich off of the perception of Doing Good.

So the question remains: where is the true value in Blockchain technology. More importantly: is there value in Blockchain?

This talk investigates the implementation of practical Blockchain use cases and breaks down use-cases that are overblown, hype driven, or simply flawed. This includes an analysis of Blockchain-for-IoT solutions, voting machines, and so-called “unhackable” wallets.

This talk extends some of the architectural concepts raised by the speaker in his HITB Amsterdam 2018 talk about Secure Elements in IoT.
