In the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity, the role of hackers is often misunderstood. Yes, we break into systems. But we equally desire to improve the world of technology.
Since I started 20 years ago, companies’ attitude towards ethical hackers have flipped from hostility to embrace.
Our attitude towards “the company” has evolved less, often stuck in the echo chamber where “the management” consciously chooses less-secure technology for short-term profit. As if managers could tell the difference 🙂
The keynote revisits how far we have already come in co-evolving through technology mutation and hacking selection. We emphasize how communication makes all the difference and calls for more Robin Hoods on the Internet.
