There’s approximately 7 weeks to go before HITBSecConf2012 – Amsterdam! If you haven’t already booked your seats, you are strongly encouraged to do so as soon as possible – places are limited and you wouldn’t want to miss out or be left standing around for 2-days now would you?  

Updated Speaker List & Draft Agenda 

In case you missed our announcements on Twitter, the speaker listing for the quad track conference on the 24th and 25th has been updated! Along with that, all HITB Lab sessions have also been confirmed. The draft conference agenda will be released in the first week of April and registered attendees will receive notification via email when this goes live.

HackWEEKDAY – Turbo Edition 

We are happy to announce that we’re bringing HackWEEKDAY to The Netherlands this year! Sponsored by Mozilla Corporation, HackWEEKDAY – Turbo Edition will be a 12-hour hackathon taking place alongside the conference. We have space for a total of 30 developers (15 from .edu and 15 professionals) who will work on the theme ‘Browsers and Extensions’. Developers from The Netherlands and around Europe are encouraged to apply and accepted applicants will not only get a complimentary pass to the conference (valued at EUR899) but also be in the running to walk away with EUR1337 in cash! Google EMEA Travel and Conference Grant for Women 

As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to encouraging women to excel in computing and technology, Google has confirmed that it will be extending it’s Diversity Grant Program (now known as Google EMEA Travel and Conference Grant) for HITB2012AMS! Introduced last year, the Google EMEA Travel and Conference Grant is set up to encourage and allow more female computer scientists to attend conferences like HITB. Two (2) award winners will be chosen from an applicant pool to receive:

• Free registration for the conference (worth EUR899)
• Up to EUR1000 towards travel costs (to be paid after the conference)

To be eligible for a conference grant candidates must:

• Be a female working in or studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical field related to the conference subject
• Have a strong academic background with demonstrated leadership ability
• Attend the core day(s) of the main conference – 24th & 25th May

To apply, please submit this form including your attached CV/resume no later than 4th May 2012:
