Kill Yr Idols

Due to a family emergency, Don Bailey will unfortunately not be able to join us.

This talk is being replaced instead with “Giving ApplePay the Finger: Hacking TouchID on the iPhone 6” by Marc Rogers

HITB KUL has been a staple in the information security community for over ten strong years. What better way to send off the renowned conference than go back to the roots of information security: zero-day.

In this talk, I plan on releasing long standing security vulnerabilities in popular open source platforms. Some of these bugs have been in my hand longer than the HITB conference has been around. It simply seems fitting that they should be laid to rest along side my favorite conference: HITB KUL.

I wont simply release the vulnerabilities, however. I will discuss their technical merit, describe why I believe they have lasted so long in the shadows of infosec, how to exploit the vulnerabilities, and finally I will demonstrate the results.
