Daniel Jary is an independent Security Researcher. Daniel was previously a Senior Security Researcher at WithSecure & F-Secure focusing on understanding the latest techniques used by threat actors, developing new agent capabilities to detect these and feeding AV & EDR evasion insights to the red team across both Linux and Windows operating systems.
Prior to this, he was a Security Research & Endpoint Agent Developer at the UK Government for several years specialising in building novel solutions to detect APT groups. In addition, he has worked for Mandiant as an Incident response consultant in Canada. Daniel’s professional interests include OS Internals, Reverse Engineering, Memory analysis & Tool development. He also holds a Masters in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics alongside a number of industry qualifications.
He has presented as a main speaker at BlackHat USA 2023, detailing some of his work based around his personal Windows internals research. Prior to this he also presented at internal non-public conferences whilst working for the UK government. This year he will be presenting new offensive Windows research at BlackHat Asia 2024.
